The basics

THCA (tetrahydrocannabinolic acid) is a natural compound found in raw cannabis and hemp. In its raw, unheated form it's non-psychoactive — you could hold a fresh bud all day and feel nothing but good about it.

Apply heat — smoking, vaping, or dabbing — and THCA converts into Delta-9 THC through a process called decarboxylation. Same plant, same experience people have loved for generations.

Here's the part that matters legally: as long as the flower's Delta-9 THC content stays below 0.3% by dry weight, it qualifies as hemp under federal law — no matter how high the THCA percentage is.
